Well, Lauren came to me about a Couples Shower invitation for a friend of hers.

The theme, Christmas Ornaments.

The guests are all invited to bring an ornament for the newlyweds-to-be.

How cool!

I automatically knew I wanted to make ornament invitations.

And I LOVE how they turned out!!

(I used two different paper patterns, which she loved so much, she wanted both!)

What you need

(it's helpful to have an idea in mind)
I loved these from cursive design.

They sell a lot of jewelery tools,
but I found that my old tweezers worked just fine :)

If you're making an extra long necklace,
you can skip this part, and just slip it over your head.

Finished product :)

This was literally done at like 2 in the morning...
because of course I couldn't sleep

before they went on to a scavenger hunt around Central Park.

What to do when stuck in an hour-and-a-half standstill traffic

So, yesterday, despite the coastal flood warnings,

my sis and I decide to head down to the city to check out The Ink Pad

(a really tiny and super-stocked stamped store)Saw lots of these on the street

(almost added ours too)

Decided we needed one of these

(the only ones not blowing with the wind, or smacking their owners in the head)

....then to eat some amazing falafel from Mamoun's on MacDougal

(also really tiny, and always with a line...

where we were lucky to snag one of the two tables)

-clearly not the day we went, notice the lack of rain, image via google

Only to drive home,

and get stuck in almost 2 hours of standstill traffic

due to flooded roads and fallen trees!

So,

here's how we occupied our time:

1. searched the car for ways to warm up my frozen, rain soaked feet

2. played tic-tac-toe and connect the dots

3. ate some of the delicious leftovers (sorry den)

4. designed logos for our sister business... tres...? (not quite sure yet)

5. sang some Mama Mia songs

6. held light shows for the surrounding cars

and

7. held wet sock wars

Before you know it, we were moving!

What a night.
